Australasian Recycling Labels

You may have seen these symbols popping up a lot recently!

There's been all sorts of recycling labels and symbols over the years!

APCO, Planet Ark and PREP (Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal) sat down and devised a master plan to make things easier for consumers and they came up with what is now known as the ARL (Australian Recycling Label). It was so good and effective that the government endorsed it and even the UN Environment Program thought it was top-notch!

Nowadays, you're seeing it in places like Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Australia Post and more, with even more businesses getting on board all the time.

It is an excellent program and is very easy to understand - once you know what you're looking at!

Please share this with as many people as you can. There are a lot of people out there that don't know what these symbols mean. The new system makes it much easier to understand what to recycle and just as importantly, what not to.

We like to keep things simple here, so we decided to create an Infographic that you can download and print out and stick on your fridge or bin!

You can download the Zero Waste Co - Australasian Recycling Label infographic here

And here's a quick summary of the labels:
